Products · Block Board
Durable, versatile block boards with a pine and poplar batten core, double core veneer and gurjan face veneers — gap-free, termite-treated and checked at multiple points before dispatch.

How it's built
Our block boards have a wooden batten core sandwiched between outer veneers, with the grain of the core running perpendicular to the veneers. We use a blend of pine and poplar wood, a double core veneer and original gurjan face veneers.
We take care at every stage: battens are precisely cut and systematically arranged for uniform thickness, materials are selected and treated to resist termite and borer attack, and every board passes multiple checkpoints so it leaves the factory gap-free.

FAQ
Block board is an engineered wood panel with a core of softwood strips (battens) sandwiched between layers of wood veneer, with the core grain running perpendicular to the face veneers. It is stiff, resists bending and is lighter than plywood of the same thickness.
MRS block boards use a blend of pine and poplar wood battens in the core, a double core veneer and original gurjan face veneers, bonded with boiling-waterproof resin.
Block board is used for long shelves, wardrobes, beds, tables, doors, wall panelling and partitions — anywhere a long, stiff panel that does not sag is needed.
Block board is lighter and stiffer over long spans, so it is preferred for shelves, beds and large panels. Plywood holds up better in high-moisture areas and for detailed cutting. Many projects use both.
Store block board flat in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Clean finished surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent; avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents.
