How it's made

Built from premium veneers, bonded for decades of use

We make our plywood from premium timber veneers sourced from trusted suppliers. Veneers are mechanically dried and stress-relieved, then laid up in cross-grain construction so every sheet stays flat and dimensionally stable.

Each layer is bonded with fortified synthetic resins and hot-pressed at a specific pressure of over 16 kg/cm². Smart Core Interconnect Technology (SCIT) keeps the core gap-free, and the glue line is treated with special chemicals that make the board resistant to borers.

All products undergo chemical treatment during production and are thoroughly inspected before dispatch.

FAQ

Plywood FAQs

What is plywood?

Plywood is an engineered wood panel made by gluing together thin layers (plies) of wood veneer, with the grain of each layer running at right angles to the next. This cross-grain construction makes it stronger and more dimensionally stable than solid wood of the same thickness.

Which plywood grades does MRS Woodcraft manufacture?

MRS Woodcraft supplies commercial plywood, BWR (boiling water resistant) and BWP (boiling water proof) plywood, marine-grade plywood, fire-retardant plywood, structural and decorative plywood, as well as custom plywood for specific projects.

What sizes and thicknesses are available?

Standard sheet sizes are 8 × 4 ft, 7 × 4 ft and 7 × 3 ft, in thicknesses from 4 mm to 25 mm. Custom sizes can be produced on request.

Which plywood should I use for kitchens and bathrooms?

Use BWP or marine-grade plywood wherever the board will face water or high humidity — kitchen base cabinets, under-sink units, bathroom vanities and exterior applications. BWR plywood suits interior furniture in normal humidity.

How should plywood be stored?

Store sheets flat in a dry, ventilated place, evenly supported to prevent warping and away from direct sunlight. Seal or laminate exposed surfaces and edges once installed.

Can plywood be used outdoors?

Yes — marine-grade and BWP plywood are made for wet and exterior conditions. For outdoor use, choose the right grade and protect the surface and edges with a suitable sealant or finish.
